Ford Fiesta ST Moose tst The first attempt of the Moose test with the Fiesta ST was completely satisfactory It was easy to avoid moving cones when entering at 77 km/h and our feelings behind the wheel were similar to the ones we had felt on twisty roads. The Fiesta ST is a very nimble car, very quick to respond, precise and with reactions that are easily controlable. Moreover, the steering is very fast (there are only two wheel turns between both locks). This is the attempt on which we passed the test at a higher entrance speed, 80 km/h. The feelings of nimbleness and quick response continue to be excellent and the reactions remain easy to control. On this occasion we found a bit more understeering effect than on the previous one and than in others at higher speeds too. The sense of precision of the Fiesta ST made us believe that we could succeed at a higher speed but in the end we were not capable of it, probably due to lack of skill of the driver, because the reactions always remained praiseworthy. The appearance of a smaller or bigger amount of understeer depended mainly on how the driver does the first swerve, but also on the wear of the tires, which suffer from degradation each time the test is performed.
Anyway, regardless of the speed, the Ford Fiesta ST behaved on this test as a very nimble car, with a very sporty feel, that can be safe on an emergency manoeuvre which involves a sudden lane change. Slalom The sensations when performing the slalom are very similar. The Fiesta ST is very nimble, and it is very easy for the driver to make fast changes of direction. The car reacts instantly to the inputs made through the steering wheel and the rear axle skids gently, helping the car move in between the cones.
