The 2018 Ford Explorer is now on our lots
and we want to take a moment to Explore what Ford has changed and improved on in this iconic
SUV. The Explorer is one of the best-looking SUVs
on the road today. With bold sporty lines, aggressive front end and design elements it’s
hard to imagine much could be improved. However, for 2018 the Explorer gets a newly designed
grille and updated LED lighting all around to increase the overall appeal and increase
visibility. A new quad exhaust around the rear makes this SUV look even better
as it takes off in front of you. As always, the Sport model features blacked out design
elements as well does the XLT with the sport package. The Luxury trims, limited and platinum
feature chrome elements that add elegance and class to the ride. For power and performance, the Explorer still
features the standard 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 that delivers 290 horsepower for plenty
of get up and go. For an increase in fuel mileage the 2.3L Ecoboost is a good option
and still puts out a respectable 280 horsepower. If you are about the top of the line the famous
3.5L Ecoboost is your best bet delivering a V6 best in class 365 horsepower and 350
lb.-ft of torque. The Explorer comes standard with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.
Available on Explorer Sport and Platinum are steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters,
so you can easily and quickly change gears.

When equipped with intelligent 4WD the Terrain
Management System has four settings for you to choose from depending on the road or path
you travel. So, choose which mode best suits your off roading needs from Normal, to Mud/Rut,
Sand, or Snow/Gravel and Grass. Also toggle hill decent control with the middle button
in the dial to set a consistent speed on a downgrade to improve safety.

As we move to the interior the design, detail,
and carefully selected materials give a premium quality feel without the luxury car prices.
The diamond stitching Nirvana leather in the platinum is just one example of how the explorer
sets the bar higher in its class. Add on a twin panel moonroof and a 500 watt Sony audio
system and you have one classy interior experience. The explorer also gives you seating for up
to 7 passengers with the available power fold third row seats that turn to a flat load floor
at the touch of a button. For technology, the Explorer is ahead of the
curve so to speak. With the Curve Control feature the Explorer will slow you down as
much as 10 mph automatically if it senses you are traveling to fast for a particular
curve. Utilizing throttle reduction coupled with four wheel braking it is always active
to help you maintain control around curves. The Ford safe and smart package is a great
addition to any Explorer with rain sensing wipers, auto high beam headlights, BLIS with
cross traffic alert, the lane-keeping system, and adaptive cruise control and forward collision
warning with brake support. Sync connect with Ford Pass is an app that keeps you connected
to your Explorer to locate where you parked, remotely lock, unlock and even start your
car, or displays vehicle statuses like fuel so you know to give yourself extra time on
your commute. With so many charging options between four USB outlets and a 110-volt outlet
the family will be kept entertained throughout your next road trip.

Enhanced by the newly
available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that supports up to 10 devices that has a range of 50 feet
you will be the go to fun parent for the next soccer trip. There are many reasons to consider the 2018
Ford Explorer as your next SUV and we only scratched the surface. To learn more about
